Mauritius: The fight against poaching in the lagoons intensifies
The Ministry of Fisheries has decided to intensify its fight against poachers who plunder the fishery resources of the Mauritian lagoons.
 
Strict instructions were given to track offenders who are engage in illegal fishing in Mauritius, with punches and will punish infringements by fines operations.
 
Fishery Guards thus arrested in the last month, no fewer than 105 people caught in the act of poaching.
 
Numerous seizures of subsea equipment used by poachers for illegally fishing more of than 500 fish were made during these operations punches.
 
3331 meters of nets were also recovered.
