Mauritius: The festive periods are strongly boosting sales of alcoholic beverages and lobsters

While the year-end festivities are in full swing in Mauritius, some products find their sales climb in this festive period. The sale of meat, shrimp, fish, crabs, lobsters have thus increased by 20% to 30% in supermarkets on the island.
Alcoholic drinks (rum, whiskey, wine, beer) are also highly popular with Mauritian consumers, with a rise of more than 50% of sales compared with an average month.
Chocolates are not left out, with a jump of 20% observed in supermarkets. 

Soft drinks (30% to 50% of sales recorded more) vegetables and salads (+ 30%) also saw a surge in demand like the indispensable fireworks whose success on the stalls was still undeniable despite a deteriorating weather at Christmas ...
