Mauritius: The family of a suspect found dead in police cell wants to sue the state for negligence

The family of a 50 years old man suspected of belonging to the gang of criminals hooded dismantled after long weeks of stalking, wants to pursue the State of Mauritius for negligence.
The suspect arrested, Wednesday, November 20, 2013, with several alleged accomplices was found dead in a police cell in the Tower Koenig (Pointe - aux-Sables) last Monday after an asphyxia by hanging as shown in the autopsy report.

According to the police, the victim would be hanged after having made a rope with its mattress fabric.
A version that emphatically reject the family of the already known suspect of policing for bulguary deals.
The latter evokes many areas of shade around the death of his relatives, as relates the Cinq Plus Dimanche newspaper.

"How someone who is in custody can rip the scabbard of his mattress to make a rope and hang quietly, and in a few minutes," laments the youngest son of the victim.
For the family lawyer, Mr. Ashwin Kandhai, "there has been negligence on the part of the police who could not ensure the safety of the victim."
