Mauritius: The business of games of chance, sports betting and horse racing cost more than 487 million euros each year

The flourishing sector of gambling, casino and other sports betting and racing games floored about a business of approximately 20 billion rupees, or more than 487 million euros each year.
Figures that would be equivalent to nearly 5% of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Mauritius.
Illegal betting outside establishments approved by the authorities would thus represent almost one third of the sums played and perceived by Mauritian gamers under the coat, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
