The application of a specialisation center for Mauritian teachers has recently been made to the Ministry of Education by Narendaranath Gopee, President of the Union of teachers in public secondary schools of Mauritius.
This specialisation center will have as aim to better train teachers about their occupation and will subsequently propose their students a different and less academic education than currently provided in classrooms of the island.
"We need a specialised center for teachers to be properly trained," said Narendranath Gopee.
The latter also appeals the Ministry of Education for the restoration of scholarships that enabled until 1978 to send teachers abroad so that they become familiar with the various foreign educational systems, as indicated Le Matinal newspaper.
