Mauritius: The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, elected best airport in Africa

The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport of Plaisance in Mauritius has again been praised by its peers.
According to the latest ranking of the Airports Council International * (ACI) for the year 2014, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport was elected the best airport in Africa ahead of the Durban airport, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Nairobi.
Plaisance Airport has also been awarded for the improvement of services in Africa and monopolises the first place.
As a reminder, the new passenger terminal operational since September 2013 and which cost around 229 million euro can receive up to 4.5 million passengers on an area of 56.900 m2, with 54 check-in desks, 1,135 seats of all comfort in the departure lounge and two lounges and a restaurant area of 700 m2.

The dedicated space on 2,250 m2 shopping duty free shops has doubled compared with the old terminal and car parking with 600 spaces adjacent to the building with the first twenty minutes free.
