Mauritius: The Minister of Social Security deplores the non-compliance of legislation in terms of employment of individuals with disabilities in enterprises

The Mauritian Minister of social security, Sheila Bappoo, recently complained publicly that few companies, some thirty according to her, comply with current legislation on the employment of people with disabilities.
 
Sheila Bappoo thus recalled that in 2011, the island of Mauritius were 60,000 people living with a disability and that only 8,400 persons with disabilities were employed, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
 
As a reminder, under the Mauritian law, companies with numbers over 35 employees are obliged to reserve 3% of jobs to people living with disability.
