Mauritius: The Mauritian tea wants to charm the Chinese, Japanese and South African market

The Mauritian authorities are presently holding discussions with China to export the Mauritian tea on the Chinese market which showed interest in the local quality product with localized plantations mostly in the South of Mauritius in the Bois-Chéri region.
The government is also studying the possibility to infuse new lines of development towards Japan or raise export towards South Africa which remains a country with high potential for the Mauritian tea industry. The Mauritian authorities also want to eventually make their tea production in the countries of Persian Gulf.
As a reminder, the Mauritian tea is currently exported to France or Australia for several dozen tons each year.
