Mauritius: The Mauritian companies to conquer the African market

The African market is attracting firms in Mauritius. Three Mauritian companies (Radatex Enterprises, Soap & Allied Industries Ltd and Tropical Garments Ltd) have recently signed contracts amounting to a total of 74 million rupees (1) with companies in Zimbabwe, as reported by the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
As Mauritius has signed trade agreements with the SADC (2) and COMESA (3), thus Zimbabwe is an integral part of many Mauritian firms and intends to develop their presence in the African market while enjoying some facilities, namely a lower sea freight compared to other destinations.

(1) One euro roughly equivalent to 40 rupees
(2) SADC: Southern African Development Community
(3) COMESA Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa.
