Mauritius: The Maurice île Durable Commission wants to make the promotion of organic farming

The Maurice île Durable (MID) Commission in partnership with the Aadicon Company (1) implanted at Piton-du-Milieu as well as the Mauritius Standards Bureau has initiated a large-scale project aiming to encourage farmers to promote biological agriculture in the culture of their fields for the introduction of bio fruits and vegetables on the local market.
Farmers are expressly invited to use in small quantity chemical fertilizers and to turn to the use of bio stimulants.
The Maurice île Durable (MID) Commission is thus given five years to achieve their aim. A fund of 60 million rupees (2) has been allocated to this project, as indicates the L’Express newspaper of Mauritius.
