Mauritius: The "Ledikasyon Pu travayer” association wants to make Creole compulsory at school

The association Ledikasyon Pu travayer (LPT) working for the promotion of the Creole language reiterated its request to Leela Devi-Dookun Luchmun, the new Minister of Education: make the creole a medium of instruction in schools.
The LPT association has already conducted several studies and the multiplied requests over the last decade to incorporate the Creole language as a compulsory subject in schools.
For the time being, Creole is proposed as an option in primary schools in Mauritius.
