Mauritius: The French, Farah Nachi, sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment for importing Subutex

The repeatedly postponed trial of the French, Nachi, aged twenty years and originated in Asnieres-sur-Seine, was held Wednesday, July 24
 
The woman pleaded guilty to illegal importation of drugs (Subutex) in Mauritius. The verdict was made in the early afternoon, Friday, July 26, 2013.

Farah Nachi was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment and a fine of 75,000 rupees (1875 euros), according to our correspondent Leevy Frivet present during the verdict at the Assize Court.

Farah Nachi benefited from a separate trial of two Mauritian contacts pursued also by the justice in this case of drug and pleaded not guilty in turn.

As a reminder, Farah Nachi who admitted before the police having acted as a mule for a Mauritian living in France, was arrested on 9th December 2011, at the Plaisance airport by the drug squad, with 9,696 tablets of Subutex (powerful heroin substitute) concealed in her luggage.
 
The market value of the drugs seized was estimated at 12 million rupees, or 300,000 euros.
