Mauritius: The Company that manages Lotto and scratch card games on the island recorded profits of 343 million rupees in 18 months

The company that has management since 2009 of the lottery in Mauritius and scratch cards games, Lottotech, with as main shareholder construction society Gamma Civic, reported 3.87 billion rupees * turnover during the 18 months to December 31, 2013.
Three billion rupees were thus made for the single Lotto game.
The profits of the company announced its imminent stock market flotation during this period which is about 343 million rupees, as reported by the newspaper Le Défi Quotidien.
As a reminder, the flourishing sector of gambling, casino and other sports betting and racing bring about a business of approximately 20 billion rupees, or more than 487 million euros each year.
The figures that would be equivalent to nearly 5% of the gross domestic product (PIB) of Mauritius.
Illegal betting outside establishments approved by the authorities would thus represent almost one third of the sums played and perceived by the Mauritian players under the coat.
