Mauritius Sugar Harvest: Over 300,000 tons of sugar already produced in factories

While the sugar campaign is in full swing since late May 2014 and should be completed in late December in Mauritius, the production of sugar is currently around 330,847 tons against 370,146 tons of sugar to the same calendar period of last year.

As a reminder, according to forecasts published by Agriculture House in May 2014, the sugar harvest this year should reach the 415,000 tons of sugar against 404.7 tons in 2013, with more than 3.8 million tons of cane harvested last year.

The sugar harvest in 2012 in Mauritius had produced 409,200 tons of sugar, while for the 2011 production had turned around 435,200 tons.
