Mauritius: Six young Mauritians will meet the American President Barack Obama

Six young Mauritians have recently been selected to participate in the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship program organized on the American ground and honors young emerging leaders of the African continent.
Didier Ho, Hemlata Ramsohok, Irshad Goolamally, Erick Bonnier, Sandrine Ah Choon and Jean-Michel Ravina will thus travel to different American universities from June 19 to August 5 to acquire all the necessary tools for developing their leadership. For the US ambassador in Mauritius Shari Villarosa, "it is for us Americans to signify our investment in the next generation of Africans."
A meeting with Barack Obama is also scheduled in Washington DC throughout a presidential three-day summit where young Mauritians will also have an opportunity go and meet "senior American executives from the business world, politics and social”.
Washington Fellows Programme for young African leaders has been renamed to Mandela Washington Fellowship Program by the American President Barack Obama in tribute to the hero of the struggle against apartheid, Nelson Mandela, who passed away December 5, 2013 at the age of 95 years.
