Sir Anerood Jugnauth, who has resigned from his post of president of the Republic on March 30, 2012 by slamming the door on the nose of the Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam to regain his freedom of speech within the opposition MSM (Mauritian Socialist Movement), is still furious after the arrest of the body guard of his son Pravind Jugnauth on Thursday.

While the latter was heard by investigators on Wednesday at the headquarters of the police force in the Casernes central of Port-Louis for defamatory remarks against the Government, his bodyguard and driver, Bessoodev Kumar Seetaram, were arrested and released on bail on Thursday.

Police accused him of penetrating the secure confines of the Casernes central with his service revolver. The bodyguard of former Minister of Finance Pravind Jugnauth is subject to a charge for possession of firearm in a crowd.

This accusation highly irritates Sir Anerood Jugnauth, which evokes a cabal against the MSM.  "According to my information, he has a firearm license. If he keeps his revolver on him, it is for his personal protection in case of need and to protect Pravind. The same goes for my bodyguards travelling with their weapons. I do not see how he committed a crime and I'm wondering why he was arrested", criticizes Sir Anerood Jugnauth.
