Mauritius: Sharp increase in tourist arrivals in April 2014




Mauritius hosted, according to the latest official figures from the Agency Statistics Mauritius, 88.404 tourists in April 2014, an increase of 16% compared to March 2013 where 76.223 travelers had been counted.
 
The markets of metropolitan France, Germany, the United Kingdom, South Africa and Reunion represent 62% of tourist arrivals for the month of April 2014, as reported by the newspaper Le Matinal.
 
As a reminder, tourist arrivals to the island grew by 2.9% in 2013 with 993.106 registered visitors.
 
Meanwhile, the official body Statistics Mauritius of last March show an increase of tourist arrivals in 2014, with an upsurge of 3.7% and approximately 1.030.000 travelers who should visit Mauritius this year.
