Mauritius: Seizure of heroin in the underwear a South African woman
An anti-drug operation conducted jointly by police and customs led to the seizure of 540 grams of heroin, on a South African citizen age of 26, at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport Plaisance last Friday.

The market value of the drugs is estimated at 8 million rupees, 210,000 euro. The smuggler landed on an Air Mauritius fly from Johannesburg, with drugs carefully hidden in her underwear.

During her interrogation, the young South African had to confess her involvement and the name of an accomplice outside to which she was supposed to deliver the precious commodity.

A flagrante operation of drug delivery was organized the very next day in the mid-day Saturday, at Grand Bay and a taxi driver was arrested by officers from the drug squad.

Placed in custody during the weekend, the man did not take long to confess to the investigators and gave the identity of the alleged leader of the network who was arrested Sunday in the aftermath.

Working in private security, the suspect has already been sentenced to five years imprisonment and 200,000 rupees (5,260 euros) fine for drug trafficking in 2012. The man had appealed the court and was released on bail.
