Mauritius: Race of traditional canoes in late August bound for Mauritian youth

To promote sailing activity in the West of the island, the sailing school Ti regatta in partnership with tag Marina offers on August 24 next from noon a race involving eleven traditional canoes on the side of Pointe Koenig in Black River.
Artists of sega in the region will also ensure the musical atmosphere on the beach and dishes of curry tang * and fish Curry among others will be served to the public.
The sailing school Ti regatta wants to target the Mauritian youth by enabling them to make the sport as an alternative to their daily lives without activities, as reported in the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
"There are often young people in the region who are not activities. To avoid the latter to fall into the social evils, the purpose of Ti regatta is giving them an alternative. They can take this as a hobby or as a sport, because it requires a good physical condition and a daily workout to be traditional regatta", highlights on the side of the Organisation of the regatta.
