The Minister of Tourism, Xavier-Luc Duval, decided to make the cleaning of tourist sites a priority of his ministry for 2015.
"Tourism is the engine of our economy and the cleanliness of our country is an essential component of the tourism product ... I appeal to citizens to help us keep our tourist sites in good condition because, as I recall, tourism makes the living of a lot of Mauritian families, "recently stated Xavier-Luc Duval.
Sites such as Trou d'Eau Douce, Trou-aux-Biches, Trou aux Cerfs, of Grand Baie, Grand Gaube, Flic-en-Flac, Mon Choisy, Blue Bay, Mahébourg, the Gorges of the Black River and Grand Bassin will be thus covered by cleaning.
