Mauritius: Possible water shortages in the days to come

While rainfall has recorded a very low activity from recent weeks and a consequent decline in the rate of filling in the hilly tanks of the island has been relieved, the public body in charge of the distribution of water in Mauritius (CWA) anticipated cuts of water on its distribution network.

The eastern region of Mauritius as Olivia, Kewal Nagar, Deep river, Trou d'Eau Douce and Montée Castile would be the first to suffer cuts water from the tap.
But other parts of the island could also be affected by the possible cuts.
The level of groundwater and the watercourse of rivers are also taken into account before any formal decision-making, as indicated by the site.
