Mauritius: Possible municipal elections anticipated in May 2015

The Alliance Lepep * in power in Mauritius since December 2014 and headed by the Prime Minister Sir Anerood Jugnauth, is apparently preparing after the National Independence Day on March 12 to engage the electoral process for the holding of early municipal elections expected to take place in May 2015 in the five cities.
The last municipal elections were held in December 2012 and the mandate of elected municipal officials must come to an end at the end of 2018. Three cities (Port Louis, Quatre Bornes and Curepipe) are according to the unmanageable political observers in the state with securing stable majorities far from being acquired.
* Le Peuple alliance regroup the Mouvement Socialiste Militant (MSM), PMSD (Parti Mauricien Social Démocrate) and the Mouvement Libérateur (ML)
