Mauritius: Possible freezing of hotel projects on the island

According to the Mauritian newspaper L'Express, the new Minister of Tourism, Xavier-Luc Duval, who had already held the post between 2005 and 2010, could respond favorably to the request expressed by the association of hoteliers and restaurateurs of Mauritius (AHRIM).
This advocates for the past ten years the freezing of hotel projects on the island.
As a reminder, in May 2014 on the 109 hotels operating in the heart of the tourism sector of Mauritius, 12,653 rooms were open to customers, or 25,652 available beds.
The hotel facilities include 51 institutions that counted were accounting for more than 80 rooms at their hotel, or a capacity of 9478 rooms for 19,308 beds.
