Mauritius: Police on the trail of a prostitution ring of underage girls for tourists in the north of the island
The police from Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Port Louis investigate on a prostitution ring of underage girls for tourists and located in Mont-Choisy, in the north of Mauritius since 2011.
 
Three women aged 29-34 years, living in Cité La Cure in north of the island, were arrested last Friday, the mother of a minor of 15 years of age who would have pushed her daughter into prostitution for foreign customers of a restaurant in Mont Choisy for 2000-3000 rupees (between 50 and 75 euros) the pass.
 
The restaurant owner would also be involved for having received money in exchange for a blind eye to sexual activities within the establishment, according to initial reports from one of the three women arrested at the beginning of the weekend.
 
This prostitution of minors have plagued the north of the island and could bring according to the investigators from other young girls to fall into the cracks of prostitution, as shown in the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
