Mauritius Paul Berenger officially resumed his position as leader of the parliamentary opposition

Paul Berenger, leader of the MMM (Mauritian Militant Movement) and former Prime Minister of the island officially resumed on Tuesday his position as head of the parliamentary opposition in the National Assembly after the effective resignation of Alan Ganoo.

Paul Berenger and resume the work of Parliament as leader of the opposition in late October after eight months of absence from the hemicycle, and, as a result of throat cancer diagnosed at an early stage at the beginning of the year.

As a reminder, Paul Berenger, had confirmed last month by the Gustave Roussy Institute in Paris that his last MRI results showed a complete remission of his throat cancer, as indicated by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.

The leader of the MMM and former Prime Minister of Mauritius had been forced to leave at the beginning of the benches of the National Assembly to get treatment in a Paris hospital by chemotherapy.
