Mauritius: Official forecasts of tourist arrivals still decreasing
For the second time this year, the official statistics of Mauritius, Mauritius Statistics, is revising downward its forecast of tourist arrivals to the island.
Today 980.000 visitors are expected to travel to Mauritius in 2013, instead of 990,000 passenger and the million tourists envisaged during the first two predictions.
 
As a reminder, in 2012 Mauritius hosted 965.441 holidaymakers and during the first sixth of the year 2013, 471.664 tourists have filed their baggage, with 264.200 European travelers fell by 3.7% compared to the same calendar period in 2012.

Tourism receipts from July 2012 to June 2013 also fell by 4.6% and the rate of filling in the hotels for the first six months of the year 2013 runs around 60% in 109 hotel structures with a total capacity of 11.977 rooms, as indicated in the newspaper Le Défi Quotidien.
