Mauritius: New synthetic drugs are appearing on the island
New synthetic drugs are beginning to make their appearance on the island for several months in Mauritius.

Illicit trafficking as well as the consumption of these drugs are a craze among young drug addicts and worries highly local authorities as well as social workers on the ground.

These synthetic cannabinoids, Black Mumba, Mary Joy, White Widow, Blue Jerry, Bombay Blue, sold between 1,000 rupees (25 euros) and 5,000 rupees (125 euros) per gram, can cause consumer paranoia, hallucinations and in some cases cause seizures, as relates the newspaper Le Défi Quotidien.
