Mauritius: Motorists caught speeding, flashed especially on Sundays

Motorists caught in speeding by the new speed cameras operational in the island, have especially flashed on Sunday, according to Ben Buntipilly, Security Advisor of Mauritian Prime Minister.

Ben Buntipilly for two simple reasons could explain this finding, namely according to him a smooth traffic on Sundays and one day under the sign "entertainment, recreation and holidays", as related by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.

As a reminder, two months from June 24, 2013 after being properly calibrated following operational problems during their commissioning in early May, and 21,420 motorists were flashed for speeding, an average of 15 offenders per hour on the twenty speed cameras on the island.
