In the wake of the alleged assault by the Minister of Justice, Yatin Varma, against a young driver of 19 years, on May 4, Quatre-Bornes and who filed a complaint for assault, Yatin Varma went on Tuesday, at the headquarters of police at the central Casernes in Port Louis to record a statement, citing threats against his person via his Facebook account.

"This case has taken an ugly turn; some political groups take advantage of the situation. It has become very serious", admits one of his advisers to the defimedia.info site.
To recap, the young driver hit the left side of the BMW Yatin Varma in a traffic accident.

Yatin Varma would then have inflicted several punches and slaps after having extricated him from his vehicle. A story that many witnesses confirm.

For his part, the Minister of Justice, Yatin Varma, who said he broke his right arm in the accident, denies outright the charges against him and speaks of "a trumped up story", trying to harm him in political terms.
