Mauritius: Mauritius Telecom introduced positive financial results for the year 2013

The management of Mauritius Telecom (MT) recently presented its financial results for the year 2013.
Gross profit of the national operator are valued at approximately 6.9 billion rupees *, an increase of 3.2% recorded the previous year.
The net profits of Mauritius Telecom is approximately 1.4 billion rupees, down by 400,000 rupees in comparison to fiscal year 2012.
The turnover of Mauritius Telecom reached on its side some 8.49 billion rupees for the financial year 2013 and represents an increase of 6.1% in one year of activities.
Mauritius Telecom investments have also increased by 40% between 2012 and 2013 with 2.1 billion invested in improving its network.
Thus, Mauritius Telecom recorded a growth of 14.3% of its revenues in relation to the supply of access to the Internet with a total of 155.330 clients served.
The national operator mobile sector reaped revenues up 0.7% with some 3.6 billion rupees.
The number of fixed telephone lines open by Mauritius Telecom is growing by 2.4%, as reported in the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
