Mauritius: Mauritius Telecom Foundation collaborated financially in more than 150 social projects in four years

The Mauritius Telecom operator via its charitable Foundation recently distributed funds to the tune of 10 million rupees * destined to 17 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other organisations fighting alongside the poor and with people living with a disability.

For 4 years, the Foundation of Mauritius Telecom thus collaborated financially, for nearly 210 million rupees, with 95 NGOs and other organisations for the implementation of more of 150 projects in Mauritius and Rodrigues Island, as reported by the newspaper Le Matinal.

235,000 people have been directly or indirectly affected by these charitable actions.

"You have to be optimistic and I am confident that we can get out our compatriots in this condition. We do not merely give cheques, labour and monitoring in the field are important," said Sarat Lallah, Director General of Mauritius Telecom and President of the eponymous Foundation.
