Mauritius social workers are worried about the increase in consumption of hard and soft drugs among young people aged over 15 years.

For them, some nightclubs in the West and Northern regions of Mauritius favor the explosion of the phenomenon over the Mauritian youth.

Cannabis of skunk type or synthetic drugs like the Black Mumba would thus begin to make their appearance on the market of drugs on the island.

Rave party would even be organized for a young audience according to some source relayed by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius, in very closed circles aboard catamarans, on a few scattered islands or sometimes even in hotels.

Social workers as well as the Ministry of youth and Sports are conducting an awareness campaign to inform young people about the dangers inherent in the use of drugs.
