Mauritius: Mauritian products stand out at a trade show in the United States on the side of Chicago

Mauritius exposed itself at international trade fair for the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA), the World Private Label Trade Show, a meeting place for lovers of products from Atlantic lands.

Mauritian products (rice, sugar, vanilla based products, fruit jellies, jams, marmalades and perfumes) displayed their tropical colors for this 30th edition which was held in Chicago in the United States until Tuesday.
Six industries placed under the auspices of Enterprise Mauritius-the organisation in charge of promoting the export of Mauritian products on foreign markets – thus have as aim to be familiar with the American consumers and to encourage medium-term exports to USA.
As a reminder, exports to the United States experienced a growth, with a turnover of 6.5 billion rupees * in 2012 against 6.9 billion rupees in 2013, as stated in the newspaper Le Matinal.
* One euro roughly equivalent to 41 rupees
