Mauritius: Mauritian products for export increase for the first six months of the year 2014

Exports of Mauritius between January and June 2014 increased by 2.7% from the same calendar period in 2013, with 23,65 billion rupees * recorded against 23,02 billion rupees in the first half of last year.
Thus, the textile sector concerning clothing grew by 7.6% on the value of its exports on foreign markets.
The textile sector of the yarns and fabrics for its part has recorded an increase of 5.8%. Mauritian T-shirts exports also increased by 16.4%, while those pants have drained 28.8% of growth.
The jewelery sector and gemstones / semi-precious displayed its share about 33% increase, as indicated by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
As a reminder, the main markets of Mauritian exports remain France, the United States, Italy and Belgium.
* One euro roughly equivalent to 41 rupees
