Mauritius: Market capitalisation valued at 279.7 billion rupees
Trading activity in Mauritius has continued its momentum of recent weeks in the wake of the increase of its two indices of reference, SEMDEX (1) and SEMTRI (2).
At the closure of the market on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 SEMDEX index reached 2109,52 points upsurge of 15.4 points compared to last week.
Meanwhile, the SEMTRI index closed at 6824,86 points, an increase of 2.26% since the beginning of the year 2014.
Capitalisation was assessed at the end of meeting at 279.7 billion rupees (3) representing 76.3% of the domestic product and gross.
Since the beginning of the year 2014, the net amount of foreign investment (purchases less sales) was estimated at 131.82 million rupees.
On 49 securities, 24 titles grew in a week, 19 tracks have maintained their position and 6 titles showed a decline, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
As a reminder, the stock exchange of Mauritius, whose the SEMDEX index jumped by 21% in 2013, raised capital for these past four years totalling more than 45 billion rupees and have served to develop the companies listed on the stock market.
