Mauritius: Maintenance of the steering rate of the Central Bank




The committee members acting on the monetary policy of the Central Bank of Mauritius has decided to maintain the policy rate at 4.65% in the wake of the decline in the unemployment rate on the island.
 
The official statistical office of Mauritius previews on its part a growth rate of the Mauritian economy turning around 3.5% for the year 2014.
 
For its part, Rhundeersing Bheenick, Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritius expresses his concern about the decline in investment as well as the savings rate and plans to introduce new financial products on the market to meet to the present situation, as indicated by the L'Express of Mauritius newspaper.
