Mauritius: Laurent Garnier, French Ambassador on the island

The new French Ambassador to Mauritius, Laurent Garnier, 46 years, has presented yesterday morning his letters of credence to the President of the Republic, Kailash Purryag, and also made a courtesy visit in the afternoon to the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Navin Ramgoolam.

The two men reviewed quickly major political and economic issues between the two countries.

"My assignment in Mauritius will be positioned under the sign of continuity," said the new French Ambassador who replaces Jean-François Dobelle who was in office since 2010 on the island.
 
Laurent Garnier has a solid experience of 20 years in the French administration.

Before receiving his transfer for Mauritius, Laurent Garnier, who gets his first post of Ambassador was working as Director of financial affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as relates the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
