Mauritius: Investors from Dubai to revive the Waterpark leisure activity

Officials of the Waterpark of Belle - Mare, in the East of the island of Mauritius and closed since October 2013, are currently in advanced negotiations with investors from Dubai for a strategic partnership which should allow the relaunch of the leisure activity.
Interested investors have thus already moved several times to Mauritius. Their last visit dates back to a little more than a month, as reported by the Mauritian newspaper L'Express.
New infrastructure should thus be built in the heart of the Waterpark and the construction of a hotel establishment is also envisaged.
As a reminder, following two deaths at the end of 2013, the Mauritian Government had ordered on October 11, 2013 the immediate administrative closure of the site of the recreation park of the Waterpark.
A commission of inquiry had been instituted in the aftermath, which had issued strong recommendations in terms of security on the site, including the recruitment and more with large number of lifeguards to provide first aid and faster access for emergency services.
