Mauritius: Influx of South African tourists since the beginning of the year 2013 on the island
With the reopening of the air link of Air Mauritius between Durban and Marina, South African tourists are clearly increasing in Mauritius since the beginning of the year 2013.
 
It is therefore 40.940 passenger originating in South Africa who have filed their suitcase on the island since January, 2013, while in comparison 89.058 South Africans travelled to Mauritius during the year 2012.

The Minister of Tourism of Mauritius, Michael Sik Yuen, thus recalled with its encouraging results, the South African travelers precede even in 2012 tourists from the United Kingdom in terms of tourist arrivals in Mauritius, placing in second place behind currently French tourists.
 
The Minister of Tourism does not want to stop there, however, and announced already several promotional campaigns of the Mauritius destination in South Africa, in partnership with the hotel as well as the national airline Air Mauritius and this to seduce more travelers in South Africa.

The cultural tourism, ecotourism and sport tourism in the wake of major international events that hosts Mauritius every year, will be honored, as indicated in the Défi Quotidien newspaper.
