Mauritius: Increase in vehicle fleet on the island at the end of 2014

The number of vehicles circulating in Mauritius is increasing. Vehicle fleet has increased by 4.9% in one year, from 443,495 vehicles registered late December 2013 with the National Transport Authority service to 465,052 vehicles in circulation one year later.
Cars, 4X4 and other utility vehicles make up 49% of the park in particular, that is, 225,522 licensed vehicles, while 187 851 motorbikes were registered at the end of December 2014.
For their part, trucks and buses are counted for 11% of the vehicle fleet in circulation in Mauritius.
