Mauritius: Increase in tax revenue

The Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) in charge of tax collection has recorded for 2013 61.7 billion rupees * fiscal resources and taxes against 58 billion in 2012 and 53 billion in 2011.
 
20.7 million rupees have thus been collected with income from taxpayers reporting more than 15 million annual rupees or boasting assets of 50 million rupees.
 
Fiscal controls resulted in the MRA to return into the coffers of the State of Mauritius any 3735 million rupees.
 
In 2013, 77% of companies and 90% of individuals have completed the form of their statements online and the payments were made in the amount of 68.2% electronically.

In 2014, the MRA has also set up the payment of the fees via credit card for an amount up to 25,000 rupees, according to the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
