Mauritius: Increase in consumer Credit in February

According to the latest figures from the Central Bank of Mauritius, commercial banks have granted, April 15, 2013, to February 28, 2014, loans to students for one amount of 127.7 million rupees *.
The Government has vouched for approximately 25.7 million rupees of this total undisbursed.
Meanwhile, credit to individuals has experienced a significant increase for the month of February with some 435.9 billion rupees lent by banks, as reported by the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
Last January, domestic credit was approximately 432.6 billion rupees, according to the Central Bank of Mauritius in its latest economic report.
