Mauritius: Huge howler of the prison services, an inmate released before the end of his sentence
An older inmate of 30 years incarcerated for robbery at Beau-Bassin was released by mistake on August 28, 2013.

The administrative staff at the origin of the huge howler was able to catch up when the former inmate appeared at the prison two days after his early exit to claim his belongings.

Immediately stopped, the man returned to his cell to serve his sentence, as indicated the site defimedia.info.

The Commissioner of Prisons of Mauritius, Jean Bruneau, decided the opening of an internal investigation to shed any light in this folder.

"The purpose of this investigation is to situate the responsibilities", said the Commissioner of Prisons and also announced that sanctions will be taken.

To recap, on July 31, a similar case occurred in the prison of Beau Bassin, with an inmate who had found freedom in the place of his twin.
