Mauritius: Heavy rains and floods in the South of the island

Active clouds had drained in their wake late in afternoon yesterday heavy rain during the course of the night.
The East, the South and the central plateau of the island of Mauritius were particularly sprayed by this rainy episode that surprised everyone by its intensity.
Localities in the South of the island such as in Rose-Belle Grand-Bois and Rivière-du-Poste experienced a real deluge that caused floods and overflowing of rivers.
Thus, the village of Rose-Belle recorded a rainfall of 86.4 mm in three hours. Some 150 houses were also flooded on the side of Rivière-du-Poste, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
