Mauritius: He was transferred for commenting on an ongoing investigation

He made statements on Irish Mirror newspaper on the progress of the investigation of the murder of Michaela Harte McAreavy, Irish tourist without the permission of his superiors last Friday. Consequently the inspector received his letter of transfer, with immediate effect, to Rodrigues during the day on Saturday.
The Latter had been subject of a similar transfer for the first time, eight years ago.
Following the acquittal of two accused, this officer was chosen in July 2012, to be part of a new team in the re-opening of the investigation of Harte case.
He had succeeded in elucidating many cases in recent years.
The murder of Michaela Harte McAreavy goes back to three years ago, January 10, 2011.
She had been found dead in her hotel room at the ex-Legends hotel, renamed Lux * Grand-Gaube.
The Irish tourist was on honeymoon in Mauritius with her husband John McAreavy when the tragedy occurred.
