Mauritius: First day of official visit of Gabonese president Ali Bongo on the island and four agreements already signed

Gabonese president Ali Bongo arrived yesterday in Mauritius for a three day official visit.
Accompanied by a large delegation of more than 50 people, Ali Bongo was welcomed at Plaisance airport by the Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam and the members of the Government as well as by the leader of the parliamentary opposition, Paul Bérenger.

In the afternoon at the Clarisse House, official residence of the Prime Minister, four agreements on cooperation, diplomatic agreement, agro-industry and food security as well as tourism was signed between Gabon and Mauritius.
Mauritian Foreign Minister Arvin Boolell, and his Gabonese counterpart, Emmanuel Issoze Ngondet, writing sealed the political orientation of the new relations between the two countries.

Gabonese president Ali Bongo said, that he wishes to come more often to Mauritius to develop the "South-South" axis and the relations that bind the two nations, as indicated in the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
