Mauritius: Decrease in the price index for consumption in the second quarter




The price index for consumption in Mauritius decreased by 0.8% in the second quarter 2014 according to the latest figures published by the official statistics agency.
 
This decrease was made possible by the pronounced drop in the price of vegetables under 20.7% while at the same time the price of fruit, fish and other food products have increased, as indicated in the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.

0.8% meat

Rhums
and other liquors -1.2%

HEALTH, TRANSPORT
Medical expenses 0.8%
Cars -0.5%
Flight Tickets -2.5%
 
LEISURE AND COMMUNICATION
Subscription to satellite channels +2.5%
Mobile phones -1.4%
Audio-visual equipment 7.4%
Computers -6.4%
 
HOTEL AND RESTAURANT
Food prepared 1.2%
House prices -17.4%
