Mauritius: Decline in tourism revenues in April 2014 despite the strong rise in arrivals on the island
Tourism revenues for the month of April 2014 valued at 3.886 billion rupees * experienced a slight decrease of 0.3% compared to the same calendar period in 2013, where the sector had reaped 3,898 billion revenue, as indicates it the Central Bank of Mauritius in its latest monthly published report .
 
 For their part, tourist arrivals on the island in April 2014, has indeed sharply increase (+16%), with 88,404 tourists who visited Mauritius against 76,223 tourists in April 2013, as reported by the newspaper Le Matinal.
 
As a reminder, the tourist arrivals in the island of Mauritius grew by 2.9% in 2013 with 993.106 registered visitors.
 
 The official agency, Statistics Mauritius, previewed in early March an increase of tourist arrivals in 2014, with an increase of 3.7% and approximately 1.030.000 travelers who should visit Mauritius during the year 2014.
