Mauritius Deadly floods: A preliminary police report involves work in a drainage channel near the Caudan
The deadly floods in the heart of Port-Louis have killed 11, including six perished in the only subterranean pedestrian tunnel to the Caudan Waterfront.

A preliminary report of the Mauritius Police points to the exhaust duct obstruction of the stream of le Pouce to explain the sudden rise in the water.

Work in the construction of a third lane of the highway, not far from the "tunnel of death" would have blocked the mouth, natural rainwater drainage in the area.

The police report also says there would have been "negligence" on the part of the contractor working on the site of the incriminated site.
