Mauritius Conjunctivitis: Private pharmacies out of stock ophthalmic drops and are supplied from Reunion

While the austral summer in full swing with its share of high temperatures and heavy rains associated since the beginning of 2015 in Mauritius, conjunctivitis included some 28,000 cases the past week in government hospitals and doctors' cabins.
Faced with this growing epidemic, private retail pharmacies and wholesalers of the island were somewhat overwhelmed by the increasing curve of the disease and many pharmacies are now in temporary out of stock, and this in relation to eye drops for treating the disease. Specific Ointments are still available for their next sale.
Mauritian importers thus the most urgent by obtaining supplies on the side of the island of Reunion, and the situation should return to normal in the coming days.
